ENOUGH POWER?
Hot on the heels of the 48 Wallytender’s world debut last year, the company unveiled this 1800hp beauty at this year’s Miami Yacht Show – a new, outboard version of the day cruiser.
“As a hotspot for the outboard yachting lifestyle, Florida is the perfect place to unveil the new model,” says Stefano de Vivo, Managing Director of Wally. “Equipped with four of Mercury’s 450hp Verado R race outboards the 48 Wallytender X is the perfect choice for those who love high-performance boats.”
Combined with a hull design and a light carbon fibre construction from the in-house experts at Wally and Ferretti Group, the awesome foursome drives the vessel to a top speed of 55 knots. At a more sedate 40-knot cruising speed the boat has a range of 320nm. The propulsion system also features user-friendly joystick controls for easy manoeuvring.
Wally has also split the four engines to the flanks of the boat – two on each side – allowing for the installation of a retractable hydraulic boarding passerelle/swim ladder for direct and easy access to the water or shore. The spacious suite on the lower deck features carbon fibre decking with furniture and panels in teak.
The deck layout includes generous seating, sunbeds and alfresco dining, serviced by a well-equipped galley unit. And with the sideways-opening bulwarks, the open ‘beach’ effect on the aft of the boat is standard in this model.
Wally was founded in 1994 in Monaco by yachtsman Luca Bassani. The company became part of the Ferretti Group last year.
